Perfect Pairs

If you're looking to get a little more fun and excitement out of your typical Blackjack game then Perfect Pairs is the game for you. The general rules of the game are the same as in regular Blackjack – beat the dealer's hand without going over 21 and you're in the money. However, what makes this game stand out is that you can score extra money by placing a Perfect Pairs wager. If you place such a wager and your two cards create a pair, you'll be collecting quite a nice stack of cash.

Blackjack real money games on offer from online casinos like us include a range of variant games and allow the Perfect Pairs side bet on these variations. If you’ve never played blackjack before then learning to play online is the easiest, fastest and most thorough way of doing it. At a land based casino, if you don’t know how to play blackjack then you have to learn in your own time. When you choose an online casino like Slots.lv, you can actually load the game in ‘Practice Mode’ first. This means that you play free online blackjack until you’re confident enough with your own blackjack strategy to start actually wagering and winning real money. There are plenty of online resources where you can collect blackjack tips as well while you’re learning the ropes.

The basic strategy for blackjack is very simple: arrive at 21 points in as few cards as possible. At the start of any game of blackjack, regardless of which variant it is, your live dealer will deal you and themselves two cards each. One of those cards will be face up and the other will be face down. You have the option of choosing a hit or whether you wish to stand. A hit is to receive a new card from the dealer while to stand is to keep the total you have on that hand.

If you choose a new card and the card puts your total over 21 points, then you automatically bust. This is regular blackjack, the classic casino table game that everyone knows and loves. Online blackjack real money begins to get interesting when you take into account how many variations of the game now exist and perfect pairs is one such variant.

How to Play

After placing their bet, the player receives a two-card hand face up while the dealer receives one card face up and the other face down. Just like in Blackjack, the player wants to acquire a hand value that comes as close to 21 as possible without going over while also beating the dealer's hand.

The Perfect Pairs bonus allows the player to place an additional bet in the Perfect Pairs betting circle at the same time as their initial bet. If the player makes any pair using their opening two cards (for example: 8 of Hearts and 8 of Spades), they win the Perfect Pair bet. The bonus increases if the player's paired cards are of the same color or suit. The Perfect Pairs bet is not affected by the dealer's hand.

Rules

  • Perfect Pairs is played using six decks, which are re-shuffled after each hand.
  • Dealer will Hit on a soft 17.
  • The player may Split up to three hands.
  • The player may Surrender any first two cards.
  • Split aces receive only one card.
  • No re-Splitting of aces.
  • A Split ace paired with a ten-value card is not considered a Blackjack.
  • The player wins if they hold a score of 21 or less but greater than the dealer's final total or when they achieve a score of 21 or less when the dealer's final score exceeds 21.

Card Values

  • Cards 2 to 10 are face value.
  • Jacks, queens and kings are worth 10.
  • Aces have a value of 1 or 11.

  • The player must click on a chip to place a bet.
  • The player may place a Perfect Pairs Bonus Bet by clicking in the designated area.
  • Additional clicks on the chip interface will add to the wager.
  • To remove a bet from play, the player can click on the chip in the betting circle.
  • Minimum amount to bet is $1 while the maximum is $500.

  • If the player and dealer each have a Blackjack, the hand results in a tie, also known as a push.
  • Any other winning hand is paid 1:1.
  • Insurance pays 2:1.
  • Any winning score of 21 after a Split is paid 1:1.
  • Any Mixed Perfect Pair Bonus Bet gets a 6:1 payout.
  • A Colored Perfect Pair Bonus Bet receives a 12:1 payout.
  • A Perfect Pair Bonus Bet receives a 25:1 payout.

Buttons

  • Deal - Starts the game after the player has placed their bet.
  • Hit - Clicked when the player wants to be dealt another card. The player can hit as many times as they like unless the total of their cards equals or exceeds 21.
  • Stand - Clicked when the player wants to keep the hand that has been dealt to them. This automatically happens if the player hits 21 or Doubles Down.
  • Double - After being dealt the first two cards, the player can decide to Double Down. The bet on the hand is doubled and one additional card is dealt to the player.
  • Split - When the player's first two cards match, they can opt to Split them into two separate hands. The player can Split twice and play up to three hands at one time.  When the player Splits two aces, only one additional card can be dealt for each hand. Aces can only be Split once. It's important to note that a hand total of 21 after Splitting aces is considered 21, not Blackjack.
  • Surrender - If the player opts to Surrender their hand, they get 50% of their bet back. The other half goes to the house.
  • Rebet - After having finished playing a hand, the player can click Rebet to wager the previous amount again.
  • Insurance - If the dealer is showing an ace as their face-up card, the player may place a supplemental bet called Insurance. A wager of exactly half of the original bet is placed on the table. If the dealer has Blackjack, the player receives an Insurance payout of 2:1. If the dealer does not have Blackjack, the player loses the Insurance bet and their initial bet is then settled by comparing their cards with the dealer's. If the dealer and the player both have Blackjack, the game is considered a push and the player gets even money – the amount won by taking Insurance.

What is Perfect Pairs in blackjack?

Perfect pairs is a wager that you place on the card draw that doesn’t actually impact the blackjack game. It’s known as a side bet, one of the ways that you can make up your losses when you’re playing blackjack games. Basically, you wager whether your first two cards are going to be a pair from the three types of permissible pairs: a perfect pair, a colored pair and a mixed pair. The chances of a player receiving a pair at the start of the round is highly unlikely but the wonderful thing about side bets is that when your luck is in then it’s really in. You can stand to make big real money winnings when you start playing with side bets like these and the higher the stakes, the bigger the payout.

The perfect pairs bet must occur before the cards are dealt and in order for you bet to be valid, it must be placed in the appropriate side bet box on the table. When you play any version of blackjack, side bets are very clearly segregated from the rest of the table play. If you’re playing online blackjack for the first time and you’re used to the table game versions, then you might benefit from loading your game in ‘Practice Mode’ before you actually start committing your bankroll funds. This will help you learn what the playing interface looks like and how it all works so you don’t accidentally invalidate your side bets and get your wagers right. You can also ensure that you completely understand the blackjack rules for the version that you’re playing.
