Last week we looked at three popular video poker games: Jacks or Better, Bonus Poker and Bonus Poker Deluxe. This week, we’re looking at games with wild cards. Our Video Poker section has four of them: Loose Deuces, Joker Poker, Deuces Wild and Bonus Deuces Wild. Because these games have wild cards, it’s easier to land payouts. But because there are more payouts, the amount you win is less than the non-wild card games.
Deuces Wild
Payback: 98.91%
Variance: 25.62
We’ll start with the most popular video poker wild card game, Deuces Wild. Two’s are wild, and labelled as such, so you won’t miss them. They act as any rank and suit, so they’re quite powerful. Let’s say you land a 2h3h6h2c2d – that’s a straight flush.
The wild Deuces make it possible to create 5 of a Kind hands. You could have four Jacks and a Two kicker, and that becomes a 5-Jack hand. The result is a 75-coin payout, as you can see in the table below.
Royal Flush 4000 Coins*
4 Deuces 1000 Coins
Royal Flush w/2 125 Coins
5 of a Kind 75 Coins
Straight Flush 45 Coins
4 of a Kind 20 Coins
Full House 20 Coins
Flush 15 Coins
Straight 10 Coins
3 of a Kind 5 Coins
Most wild card games don’t offer payouts for pairs, and Deuces Wild is no exception. You need at least a 3 of a Kind to land a payout in this game.
Bonus Deuces Wild
Payback: 99.45%
Variance: 32.66
Bonus Deuces Wild is the same game as Deuces Wild, except it offers three extra winning hands – all 5 of a Kind variants. The original offers one payout for all 5 of a Kinds, whereas the bonus version offers three unique payouts depending on the type of 5 of a Kind. To compensate, straights only pay 1 for 1.
